Moderately to very experienced. Grew up sailing in Hong Kong both dinghies and cruisers 40ft+.
Most racing has been inshore series though have done a few offshore, multi-night races from HKG to the Philippines as well as a few regattas in Thailand and the Whitsundays. I do have a competent crew qualification as well.
I haven’t done much regular racing in the past several years and may be a bit scratchy on some sailing jargon but am still quick around the deck and am comfortable in all crew positions.

I’m a responsible, reliable person, keen to get as much sailing as possible. Other than work, I have no commitments.

I am no rockstar (50+ yo) but I am attentive and conscientious. I’ve been told by experienced sailors that I am very competent up the front.

I have been sailing for about 8 years, which includes:

5 years experience on bow – last 3+ regularly on a Sydney 38, racing regularly, including Lincoln races/regattas. Prior to that, 18months on a Bavaria 40 with both sym and assym kites;
‘Catch ride’ doing bow on an Inglis 38 at the AWKR this year – end-for-end gybing, with interchangeable poles;
Some other ‘general’ experience on other boats and other roles.

I’m looking for a competitive but fun (and safety conscious) boat with a view to developing my skills and gaining experience. I intend to do the SROCP and some nav study (in preparation for a trip cruising O/S next year).

I’m not currently a member of RSAYS but intend to join if I get a regular commitment. I have been in communication with another Skipper, but have yet to receive confirmation, so I am looking for a back up plan, just in case!

I was referred to this list by Colin Doudy (member). I have several years sailing experience, as well as Keel Boat and Coastal Navigation certifications. I used to own a sailboat (25′ Cape Dory) when I lived overseas which I had to sell before relocating to Adelaide.
