S through SE to E
A secure anchorage in deep sand with 5 to 6 metres of water out from the beach. It is clearly visible in the photo above in the corner formed between the high cliffy coast tending westward toward Cape Torrens and the less forbidding low cliffy coast tending northward toward Cape Forbin.
There is some protection for light SW or NE winds, by anchoring close in-shore on either side although wind bullets are common.
Like many parts of the northern coastline of KI, often a hard beat to get to from the north-west during summer afternoons because of the katabatic strengthening of the off-shore winds that are very common at these times.
