General Position:

Note: approx. only.
Do not use as an anchoring point on your GPS.

Shelter From:

SE through E to N

Anchorage:

The Beatrice Islets, located on Sutherlands Shoal, are approx 2nm ENE of Kingscote. The anchorage is in the lee of the Islets in 3m of water over a sandy bottom. Although it can be windy, shelter from the swell is available because of the shoal to windward.

Comments:

Beatrice Islets comprises a drying sand spit about 2 miles east of Kingscote. Although covered at high tide, it provides shelter from the SE swell prevalent in Kingscote itself.
If the wind strengthens or shifts an all weather anchorage is only 5 nm away in the Bay of Shoals. If moving to the Bay of Shoals, head towards Kingscote initially, avoiding the many shallow patches.
