McLaren Point

McLaren Point

General Position:

34 48 S  136 00 E

Note: approx. only. Do not use as an anchoring point on your GPS.

Shelter From:

North West to South (North of the point)
North East to North West (South of the point)

North of the point: Shelter in the southern end of the bay. There are submerged rocks 200 meters north east of the point. Holding is good.
South of the point: It gets shallow closer in to the shore.

Of a variety of anchorages in Thorny Passage the Southern anchorage gives good shelter from N to NW and the Northern side gives good shelter from the S and SW. If moving from one to the other beware of the reef that runs N-NE from Mc Laren Point.
