Taylor Island

Taylor Island

General Position:

34 52 S  136 00 E

Note: approx. only. Do not use as an anchoring point on your GPS.

Shelter From:

South through East to North East

The anchorage is on the north west shore of the island opposite a landing and some buildings. The holding is quite good. The photo “Taylor Island 2” linked below shows the anchorage and part of the sand spit that extends to the small island to the north. This sand spit and island provides shelter from E to NE winds.

Across from the island off the Jessieu Peninsula there are other anchorages that will provide shelter from the North West to the South West.

Other Comments:

I have anchored on the Jessieu Peninsula side at 34 49.85 S 135 59.32 E. It is an attractive little cove compared to the fairly barren Taylor Island and provides shelter from the North West to South West.
