Come and learn to sail at a week long camp at the Royal South Australian Yacht Squadron

This school will be operated by RSAYS and supported by volunteer staff of RSAYS Sea Cadets.

The program is a unique opportunity for young people aged 12 – 17 years.

The Sailing School will offer:

Pacer Dinghies – Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th
Dinghies are small sailing boats and a great way to get into sailing. Sailing a dinghy can be fun and exhilarating and this program has been developed to provide a safe introduction to dinghy sailing. Dinghies are ideal for juniors and youth to learn the basics of sailing and racing.

Keelboat J24 Yachts – Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th
The J24 is undeniably the most popular racing keelboat to make waves around the world. This appealing keelboat started with one man’s desire for a sailboat to accommodate his family and to be a competitive racer. Many years later and the J24 has become a legend. A suitable sailboat for family togetherness, the J24 has also been the launch pad for the careers of numerous America’s Cup professionals.

Tall Ship Sailing on the One and All – Friday 8th
When we depart McLaren Wharf, be amazed at the bridges opening to start our day of adventure on the water, and the action is non-stop. As we travel down the Port River, discover the variety of vessels and businesses in the maritime industry. The Port River is one of our oldest waterways in Adelaide, it will give a glimpse back to the history of the wetlands, the quarantine station, and the nearby ships graveyard, and no trip down the river is without dolphins. As we head out  the breakwater to sea, we let loose the sails and show the magic of tall ship sailing!

The Award Dinner will be an opportunity for us to celebrate our week and receive recognition for our efforts.
